AMS-5 in Kobe

Welcome

We are delighted to announce the 5th Conference of the Aseanian Membrane Society (AMS 5) will be held on July 12-14, 2009, in Kobe, Japan.

The first AMS conference was held in Tokyo (Japan) in 2002, and the second conference was held in Seoul (Korea) in 2004. Beijing (China) was the place for the third AMS conference in 2006. In 2007, the 4th Conference was held in Taipei (Taiwan). Japan will be the host country again for AMS 5 in 2009.

Recently, much attention has been paid to “Membrane” especially from the viewpoint of the environmental protection such as water treatment, CO2 separation and so on. The purpose of this conference is to exchange state-of-art knowledge and future perspectives on the Membranes and Membrane processes.

When Kobe was opened to the outside world in 1868, Kobe was a simple fishing village. In a period of only 135 years, Kobe grew up to one of the biggest cities in Japan with a population of more than 1.5 million. Kobe is recognized as “a city of creative citizens open to the world”. We hope that you will enjoy the conference and take the opportunity to experience the unique culture of Kobe and “Kobe Beef”.

Looking forward to seeing all of you in Kobe.
